Project Introduction

The Australian 188E visa integrates investments, entrepreneurship and immigration, and is also known as the entrepreneur visa. It is more suitable for overseas graduates and overseas innovative talents with relevant academic qualifications. It needs to be endorsed by the state/territory government or its designated innovation agency; the visa is valid for 5 years, and 188E holders who meet the requirements can submit an application for an 888E permanent visa after 3 years.

Application Requirements

you must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). If an Australian State or Territory government agency accepts your EOI and nominates you, you will be invited to apply for this visa.
You must be nominated by a State or Territory government agency before being invited to apply for this visa. The State or Territory government agency that nominates you must not withdraw their nomination after you apply, or we will be unable to grant you a visa.
You will not receive an invitation if you are aged 55 or older, at the time of the invitation to apply for the visa, unless the State or Territory government agency has determined your proposed entrepreneur activity will be of exceptional economic benefit.
You must be undertaking, or proposing to undertake, a complying entrepreneur activity in Australia. You must have a genuine intention to continue this activity. A complying entrepreneur activity must relate to an innovative idea that will lead to:
the commercialisation of a product or service in Australia, or
the development of an enterprise or business in Australia

This activity must not relate to any of the following categories:

Residential real estate
Labour hire
Purchase of an existing enterprise or a franchise in Australia
If you were invited to apply for this visa on or after 1 July 2021, you must be endorsed by your nominating State or Territory government agency to develop your entrepreneurial concepts.
You must have at least competent English
You and any family members who apply for the visa with you must meet our health requirement. Family members who are not coming to Australia might also meet our health requirement.
You and family members aged 16 years and over who apply for the visa with you must meet our character requirement. Family members who are not coming to Australia must also have to meet us meet our character requirement.
If you and your family members who have applied for the visa are 18 years of age or older at the time of application, you and your family members must have read, or had explained to you, the Life in Australia book and sign an Australian Values Statement that confirms you will respect the Australian way of life and obey Australian laws.
If you or any family members owe the Australian Government money, you or they must have paid it back or have an approved arrangement in place to pay it back.
You might not be eligible for this visa if you have had a visa cancelled or refused while you were in Australia.

Application Process

You must give us an Expression of Interest (EOI), be nominated by a State or Territory, and then be invited to apply.
You will need to prove your identity, and provide documents about your business and assets. You also need to provide documents about family members applying with you.
