Project Introduction

Schools in Australia are mainly categorised into public schools and private schools. Public schools are funded and managed by the government. The main way that public schools enrol students is through the student’s residential district. Most public schools have a fixed number of places for international students every year. Public school tuition fees are relatively reasonable and cost-effective.

Private schools are mainly operated by private enterprises, and the school hardware facilities and management are better than those in public schools. Many well-ranked private schools have a long waiting period, and students need to queue up early in advance. Schools have restricted requirements for parents’ educational level and social status. International students need to take the AEAS exam before applying to private schools.

Parents can consider multiple factors when choosing a school, taking into account the student’s personality and development direction. Also, geographic location, number of students, and academic level in previous years can be used as indicators. Public schools have moderate costs and consistent teaching levels. While private schools have higher costs, they also pay more attention to the overall development of students’ morality, intelligence and physique.
