2022 Australia QS Subject Rankings

The QS World University Ranking is an annual ranking of world universities published by Quacquarelli Symonds, a higher education institution. The QS World University Ranking is the second oldest global university ranking. QS World University Rankings, The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, U.S. News World University Rankings, and Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) are regarded as the four most influential rankings in the world. The QS World University Rankings has been named one of the most watched university rankings in the world for its open and transparent questionnaire format. This ranking is the 18th QS ranking since the publication of the World University Rankings.

Grading In terms of the methodology of the World University Rankings, a total of 6 indicators are used to evaluate and test the relevant data of the world’s top universities, which comprehensively shows the global reputation of higher education institutions from three aspects: global reputation, academic output quality and influence, and internationalization degree. The current state of development in the context.

The six indicators and their weights are:

1. Academic reputation (40%): based on questionnaire feedback from more than 130,000 scholars; 2. Employer reputation (10%): Based on responses from more than 75,000 employers to a questionnaire on the employability of college graduates; 3. The number of citations by faculty members (20%): a measure of academic influence, calculated by dividing the total number of citations of research papers of the university by the number of faculty members in the university within five years; 4. Student-faculty ratio (20%): Represents the size of teaching, calculated by dividing the number of students by the number of faculty members, for the global student population to refer to the class size of the selected university; 5. International Faculty Proportion (5%): One of QS’s two internationalization indicators, which measures the proportion of non-national faculty in a university. 6. Proportion of international students (5%): The second of QS’s two internationalisation indicators, measures the proportion of a university’s non-national student population, which can also indicate a university’s ability to attract talent from around the world.
