This visa stream lets you visit Australia as a tourist, to see family and friends or for purposes other than business or medical treatment.

Resident Return visa

If you leave Australia after your travel validity expires, or it expires when you are outside Australia, you will not be able to return to Australia as a permanent resident. This visa allows you to return as a permanent resident.

AAT / MRD Review Appeals

Under Commonwealth Law, the Australian Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian Government. Migration & Refugee Division (MRD) is a part of the AAT division, and it can review some, but not all, decisions about visas made under the Migration Act 1958 by the Department of Home Affairs, the Minister for Home Affairs or the Minister for Immigration, such as visa refusal and visa cancellations.

CoE Cancellation

COE stands for Confirmation of Enrolment and is the official and valid certification for international students to prove to the Department of Home Affairs that they are studying in Australia.

Show Cause

Students are asked to Show Cause after they have two unsatisfactory semesters in their program. A semester is usually considered unsatisfactory because half or more courses (subjects) were failed, or because a course was failed for a 2nd time (failing a placement course also makes a semester unsatisfactory).

Visa Expired

If your visa has expired within the past 28 days, there are different options available to you. The Department of Home Affairs offers a 28 day ‘grace period’ during which time you can generally apply for another type of visa without being subject to the 3 year exclusion period.
