Project Introduction

The 186 visa can be applied both onshore and offshore. It is a visa merging the original 121 and 856 visas. It belongs to the Australian Employer Sponsored Skilled Migration Program, also commonly known as Employer Nomination Migration.

The Australian government allows enterprises or institutions in Australia to hire professionals from overseas, and guarantee the employed people to work and live in Australia, and can obtain permanent residency rights at one time.
3 categories of 186 visa:
Temporary Residence Transition stream is for applicants on a 457/482 visa who are already working in the nominated occupation, have worked for their current employer for more than 2 years, and their employer intends to provide a permanent position
Direct Entry stream is for applicants who have never or briefly worked in Australia and have not held a 457 visa for only 2 years
Labour Agreement stream is for applicants who are employer-sponsored through an employment agreement or regional immigration agreement

** The sub-applicants here mainly refer to: the applicant’s spouse and children under the age of 23. The step-children of the applicant or his spouse under the age of 23 can also be used as sub-applicants.

Application requirements

Usually, you must be under 45 years of age when you apply.
You must be nominated by an Australian employer whose business is actively and lawfully operating. You must apply for the visa within 6 months of the nomination being approved.
Most applicants need to have a skills assessment that shows they have the skills to work in the nominated position.
Unless exempt, most applicants need to have at least 3 years relevant work experience in their occupation. Applicants who are exempt from the skills assessment requirement are also exempt from the work experience requirement.
IELTS with four Competent English scores of 6, valid for three years
